3rd and 4th Grade

Camp NSCI – 3rd and 4th Grade   NEW 
Camp NSCI is an effort to take the elements of camp and apply them to our Sunday program. We are creating a total environment and educational experience that builds connections among the campers through active learning, bunk and unit activities, interactions with the staff of counselors (machoniks) and unit heads (teachers). The content is a two year cycle that seeks to connect our students’ stories to the stories of the Torah and the Jewish people. The program is divided into four sessions each that will feature a different specialist such as in the visual arts, storytelling/drama, media, and more that will result in some project the campers create. Parents will be invited to attend several visitors’ days throughout the camp season.
Sunday: Early or Late Session

Please note:  3rd and 4th Grade students attend “Camp NSCI” on Sundays and also select a Hebrew option from those listed below.

Hebrew for 3rd Graders  NEW
3rd Grade Hebrew focuses on learning the Hebrew alphabet, learning to read words and blessings.
Families with children in 3rd grade have two options for Hebrew:

  1. Family Hebrew School – Sundays from 9:45 AM – 10:45 AM

Students attend with a parent every Sunday for one hour. The expectation is that students will have some written assignments, games, or reading practice about 20 - 30 minutes a week. Parents with any level of Hebrew knowledge are welcome! A minimum of 10 families is needed to run this class.   
OR

  1. Tuesday or Wednesday Hebrew School – 4:15 PM – 6:15 PM

A Junior Choir and other types of electives related to Hebrew such as games, sports, food, arts, speaking modern Hebrew, calligraphy will be offered during school hours.

Hebrew for 4th Graders  NEW
Students expand their Hebrew reading skills to include prayers used in services at NSCI. They study key words and concepts from the prayers.  A Junior Choir and other types of electives related to Hebrew such as games, sports, food, arts, speaking modern Hebrew, calligraphy will be offered during school hours.
Tuesday or Wednesday from 4:15 – 6:15 PM
